inkcanada has a couple of regular social events, some are live and in-person and some are online so that anyone can participate, where ever they are.
#inkdrinks are purely social, uber-casual gatherings in cities and towns where we see enough interest via our FBGroup to warrant a get-together, usually in a bar. These aren’t workshops or pitch opps, artists from all walks and experience levels are welcomed, and the ‘just hang out and get to know each other’ rule is strictly enforced. In smaller cities, these can coincide with festivals, awards ceremonies, or back in the day - walking the picket lines in L.A. and solidarity demonstrations for the WGA strike in Toronto and Montreal. Toronto hosts the only monthly #inkdrinks so far. It is also known as #bandpractice. This event is usually every third Friday night of the month, except in June, July and December. Invitations and information on our pending #inkdrinks are made available to the public on our FBGroup.
#inkcoffeewithKat is another ultra-casual social event hosted by esteemed local writer, professor & story-editor Kat Montagu at The Grind Coffee House in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia. Coffee with Kat is usually monthly, often the first Sunday morning of the month. Invitations and information on our pending #inkcoffeewithKat are made available to the public on our FBGroup.
